Gain Weight Through Muscle Training

An exercise regime coupled with a balanced diet is the tried and tested way to gaining weight but for women sometimes just this is not enough. Our bodies fall into three shapes: endomorphic, mesomorphic, and ectomorphic. In women this is a blend or collection of all three and it touches a count of 300. A naturally thin body will find is difficult to add bulk and curves.

If your focus in on gaining curves through weight gain then you must take a long hard look at your work out. Muscle strengthening work outs are far better than fat burning work outs where the focus is more on cardio. Cardio is generally for an hour or so thrice weekly, so calorie burning here is more than the consumption. Unless you are training for a marathon you can easily cut back on cardio without compromising existing fitness levels.

The focus has to be more on the strengthening areas of the routine. If you are already doing weights then increase the weight so your muscles can add more bulk. But if you are not then start with weight lifting as this is the right time for it. The aim is to give your body a little bit of stress while working out and adding weights will do that. This will add some bulk to your muscles and which will increase the overall mass. You are looking at adding curves and definition to your body, not looking to be like a weight lifter. There are some good muscle training exercises like bicep curls, squats, bench press and push-ups where you will get a good work out.

Once you get started there will be not be much of a noticeable change in the first 3 months or 12 weeks. Your muscles are now learning to contract efficiently and your strength is increasing slowly. But three months of consistent training will give you results. You will now see an increase in weight gain and a certain shape to your body will be noticeable. Of course it all depends just which areas the exercise routine is targeted at.

Thinner women will find that they look more defined than normal sized women. The main reason for this is that they don't have fat on them which will soften the muscle they are building up. Increase your fat intake and body fat if you feel you are looking too angled or defined.
