Yoga And Meditation

Acknowledging the importance of meditation, peacefulness and self-equilibrium most yoga trainers and yoga practitioners make sure that these three principles are incorporated in all their yoga sessions. Meditation has proven instrumental in helping individuals attain the transcendent state of recognizing the purpose of their existence.

 

Research has proven beyond a doubt that meditation is an important contributory factor for emotional as well as physical well-being and the practice of meditation is considered as one of the vital principles of all yoga routines.

The immune system of the human body is greatly improved by practicing yoga and when you have a strong immune system your diseases will get cured faster. Yoga also reduces mental stress and regulates blood circulation.

Meditation is supported by religion as well as psychology. Religion says that future consequences depend on past actions; when you analyze your actions and correct them you can improve yourself. Psychology also suggests self analysis to improve mental strength.

Yoga inherently teaches meditation. Since yoga aims in creating body flexibility combined with mental focus, it can be said that yoga strives to achieve physical and mental health, which is the basic factor for meditation too. Meditation exercises are different for beginners and experts and you must follow the correct level of exercises appropriate for you. You have to know what you are doing. You have to understand the advantages and the benefits of the exercises you are doing and follow those that will cater your specific needs.

Many people believe that just like breathing, meditation should come naturally and should not be taught by somebody else though it is true to a certain extent you have to follow certain process and techniques to fully get the benefits of meditation. The time at which you practice yoga determines the benefits. The best time to practice yoga is early in the morning before sunrise or late evening after sunset. Yoga tends to be more spiritual and believes that the atmosphere will be filled with spiritual energy only during these times.

You need to follow certain tips to reap the full benefits of meditation.

Be relaxed and set up your mind to practice meditation. Switch off all noisy equipments in the atmosphere

Look for a quiet place free from all disturbances

Using the same time and place for regular meditation sessions helps you set your biological clock easily during the routine

Forget all your fears and worries and keep your mind focused on the meditation instead

Follow breathing patterns while practicing meditation. This will not only help you in focusing the mind but also has physical advantages.

Keep your head, shoulders and neck relaxed and in a straight line

Keep in mind that it is vital to observe the results after your meditation sessions so that you can keep track of your improved state of mind and body.
